Hello,
One way to get students
thinking about what they are about to read is having them make predictions. First, I review the definition of a prediction. I enjoy using this strategy with my
class. I believe the predictions lead to
class discussions. In addition, students
get “think” time.
I use this log by asking
students to record their pre and post thoughts along our reading journey
throughout the school year. Students are
asked to store their logs in their writing folders. It’s a strategy that you may use over and
over again. It’s also a great resource
for guided reading.
